I hit up Dancing Wasabi in Hyde Park the other night for dinner with my friend Britney. It’s been way to long since we’ve gotten together so it was a much needed girls dinner.
We started with glasses of white wine and edamame. Our edamame was served so piping hot that the steam was still coming off of the beans when our waiter placed it in front of us.
The beans were tender and fresh. I love the little bit of salt that the edamame was tossed in. It was a perfect starter while we sipped on our wine and perused the sushi menu.
Dancing Wasabi features half priced sushi every day of the week! I love getting a good deal, especially when it’s a delicious meal. The east side of Cincinnati is flooded with sushi restaurants competing for your business. I almost feel guilty if I’m at a place that doesn’t have half price sushi, because so many restaurants feature the discounted prices.
We decided to order three rolls to split between the two of us. Here’s what we ordered:
- Crunch Munch Roll with spicy crab and cucumber topped with shrimp, wasabi sauce, and tempura flakes
- Crazy Spicy California Roll topped with torched spicy crab
- Spicy Tuna Roll
All of the rolls were awesome! My favorite was the Crunch Munch Roll. I really liked the spicy kick with the crab. Typically I dip my rolls in a little low sodium soy sauce mixed with some wasabi. I love cleaning out my sinuses.
Dancing Wasabi was pretty busy for a Thursday night. We sat at a two top table in the bar at the front of the restaurant and there was a steady stream of people coming in and waiting for tables. The bartender was our server and was very attentive and took good care of us. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and catching up with Brit at Dancing Wasabi and recommend checking it out next time you’re in the mood for sushi.
What’s you’re favorite sushi roll?
Spicy tuna rolls are my favorite. I always order one when I go to a new sushi place so I can compare it to other sushi restaurants.
Philadelphia roll!!! Or yellow tail
