Devon Seafood Grill

Simple, fresh, fish.  Devon Seafood Grill in Chicago’s got it down.  After a huge meal at The Girl and the Goat, we knew on our second evening in Chicago we needed to have some lighter and different choices.  Devon Seafood is known for fresh fish that’s simply prepared.

Devon’s menu features lots of grilled fresh fish choices, steaks, and mouthwatering sides including roasted cauliflower, brussel sprouts, lobster mac & cheese, and parmesan roasted potatoes.  While I was looking over the menu, a hot biscuit was placed in front of me straight off of a baking tray.

The Mini New England Lobster Rolls immediately caught my attention.  I love lobster and need to plan a trip to Maine soon.  That would be fun to blog about!  Ok, back to Chicago and back to Devon.  Take a look at my mini lobster rolls.  Aren’t they cute?  Not only were they good looking, they tasted good too.

The lobster was sweet and tangy with the mayo. On top, there was a little bit of watercress.

For my main course, I decided to try the King Salmon from New Zealand.  It was light and flakey and perfectly cooked.  I loved the simplicity of the fish.  The true flavors of the salmon really show through with a little squeeze of lemon.

For my sides, I of course had to try the Lobster Mac & Cheese and Brussel Sprouts with Pancetta and Mustard.  The brussel sprouts were full of roasted smokeyness from the pancetta.  I was a little disappointed in the Mac & Cheese. Mine didn’t have very much lobster in it and was a little dry.

Dessert on the other hand, was a whole different story.  I was pretty full at this point but when my Mother suggested we split the key lime pie, I immediately said yes.  And it was a very, very good decision.  Take a look.

The key lime pie was perfectly tart and sweet with freshly whipped cream on top.  It had the perfect mount of zest to cut through my entree and end my meal completely satisfied.  The pie also came with a scoop of mango sorbet, but let me be honest, I was 100% focused on the key lime pie.

Overall my meal at Devon was very satisfying.  It didn’t knock my socks off but I left full and happy.

I love seafood pasta but really enjoy my fish broiled with a little olive oil and salt and pepper.
